Indoor natural pool - sustainable justifiable?

I live in the middle of Ireland in an ecovillage. I would love an indoor natural pool but my husband says it's not sustainable and not an appropriate installation, especially not in an ecovillage. Is this defensible in a sustainable/environmental way when our world is in such a crisis?
To take into account, we are 5 in the household, we have an electric car, 20 min to the lake, 1,5 h to the sea and all swimming pools are a no go in corona crisis.
What about the suggestion of a large natural pool for 80 citizens, is that more of a sustainable suggestion? Indoor versus outdoor? To add, we have an outdoor natural wildlife pond here (not swimming).
